The Viking V was inspired by the Norse myth of Fenrir; a monstrous wolf who the Gods attempted twice to restrain with great iron fetters but failed. A magical ribbon contructed by dwarves finally restrained Fenrir until Ragnarok. Then the story goes that all bonds will break and the Fenrisúlfr (Fenris wolf) shall devour the god Odin whole.
Many hours of carving have gone in to this Gibson Flying V to craft it into a mighty iron Viking weapon. It features the god Odin being devoured by Fenrir in a traditional anamorphic Celtic knotwork style, hand wound pickups, a Schaller roller bridge and a custom V tailpiece specially cast for this guitar.
